Lacrimosa - The meaning

Our name "Lacrimosa" comes from the word "lacrimoso", meaning tearful.

Lacrimosa is part of the Dies Irae sequence in the Requiem mass. Its text comes from the 18th and 19th stanzas of the sequence. Many composers, including Mozart, Berlioz, and Verdi have set the text as a discrete movement of the Requiem. The music of the Lacrimosa were the last notes Mozart ever set to paper in 1791, a few weeks before his death, in a Requiem which was never finished.

"208 Lacrimosa" is a main-belt asteroid. It is classified as an S-type asteroid. It is also one of the largest members of the Koronis asteroid family and probably a piece of the original asteroid which was shattered in an ancient impact that created the family. It was discovered by Johann Palisa on October 21, 1879, in Pola, Croatia.

"Lacrimosa" is a teardroped shaped wild flower that grows into depths of the Atlantic Ocean.
It is commonly considered that tears are holding hands with sad emotions. What we see is that tears are the outcome of the ultimate happiness and relief (tears of joy).

As Leo Buscaglia said: "Tears help you see the world with a clear vision" and this is what our brand represents.
